Putting on makeup is truly an art form, sometimes it takes a lot of skill or sometimes it doesn’t. You don’t need to be a professional MUA to give these trendy make up items a try in 2023. Makeup is all about being creative, having fun, and feeling confident about yourself. The makeup industry is constantly evolving with enhancing technology, new formulas, and innovative product design. There are infinite elements to what makes a good makeup product. Makeup is so individual to each consumer, and the majority of people find a few specific products that work for them and stick with those for the foreseeable future. I am guilty of this myself, but I’m trying to expand my knowledge of emerging makeup trends!
Liquid blush is the new powder brush. Liquid makeup products are a lot more forgiving than powder as you can simply blend away all your mistakes. Liquid blushes are blendable, creamy, and give off an illuminating effect. As we shift away from more and more powder makeup products, we can start playing around with a variety of liquid beauty products. For a super glowy look, reach for a liquid blush, highlighter, and bronzer to highlight your natural features. Some highly reviewed make up products endorsed by industry professionals and supporting celebrities include Rare Beauty’s liquid blush by Selena Gomez, Charlotte Tilbury’s blush wash and Benefit’s cheek tint.
Another makeup trend that is a personal favorite of mine, is cutting your faux lash in half and placing them on the outer corners of your lash line for a cat eye effect. Not only is this technique elongating for your eyes but gives a more natural illusion. People may not be able to tell right away if you are even wearing faux lashes! Half lashes are also able to blend seamlessly with the rest of your natural lashes, rather than appear as a harsh black line which sometimes happens with a full set of lashes. Some great brnads to experiment with this technique include Lilly Lashes, Kiss Kiss, and Quo.
Another makeup trend to emerge in 2023 which is heavily inspired by the hit TV show, “Euphoria” is rhinestone make up. What better way to complete a makeup look than with a few sparkly gems. After all, a girl’s best friend is her diamonds, so why not sparkle up your face and complete your makeup look with fun coloured and uniquely shaped gems. A couple brands who have got rhinestone makeup down to a T are Half Magic, Pley Beauty, and Mr. Pen.
