Toronto’s Fashion Industry has been on the rise for the past few years, and one of the greatest things about the Toronto fashion scene is our inclusiveness. We have Indigenous Fashion Week, African Fashion Week, Plus Size Fashion Week, and now Kids Fashion Week.
The first ever Toronto Kids Fashion Week (or TKFW) is set to happen on December 8th, at Daniels Spectrum, with a showing from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. You can purchase tickets for the event here.
On October 21st a set of auditions were held for the upcoming event, and Infuse was lucky enough to get invited to spectate! This was an amazing opportunity for young models looking to make a name in Toronto, as they did not require to be affiliated with an agency. TKFW is also providing all the young models with a training session (which occurred this past Sunday) to help them put their best foot forward.
At the auditions groups of 5-10 were walked in, asked some questions (like what they had for breakfast), and then proceeded to show the judges their best runway walks. It was such an adorable spectacle. The judges did an amazing job interacting with the kids, and making them feel comfortable. The judges included: Peggie LaPage; Shawn Byfield a professional dancer, coach, and radio host (https://www.instagram.com/shawnbyfield/); Al Mon; and Love Candice!
The designers that have already signed on to be included in Toronto Kids Fashion Week are:
Love Candice’s Trendy Bambi (http://www.trendybambini.com/)
Bo Beads (https://www.bobeads.com/)
Ragal Agency (http://ragalagency.com/)
Little Buck (http://www.littlebuck.ca/)
Pingo Apparel (http://www.pingoapparel.com/)
Itzy Bitzy (https://www.shopitzybitzy.com/)
Tutu Sweet (http://www.tutusweetbylanita.com/).
Infuse cannot wait to see all of these children’s brands come to life on the runway, and even see some familiar faces in early December.
Thank you so much to the team at Toronto Kids Fashion Week for allowing us a behind the scenes look, we are looking forward to this show coming to life, and hopefully attend on December 8th. For more information visit:
