Menswear Monday

Here are 3 of the top trends from the Fall/Winter 2018 runway that will elevate your style for the dreaded cold weather. On this list you’ll find Western inspirations mixed with checks and plaids  + the well loved, leather jacket.

Western

(L to R) CALVIN KLEIN Fall 2018, DSquared2 Fall 2018, Dries Van Noten Fall 2018

Western details have been arising in fashion for a couple seasons now, but it is out in full swing now for fall/winter. I’ve always been a firm believer that pop culture effects what is happening in  fashion and I cannot help but think of the popular HBO show Westworld when I see these western inspired pieces. Westworld just wrapped up its second season and now it’s leaving fans waiting for the 3rd season (it’s going to be a long time before It comes back out guys). But while y’all are waiting, throw on some pointed boots and a button up with tassels and enjoy the trend!

Checks

(L to R) Wooyoungmi Fall 2018, Versace Fall 2018, Sacai Fall 2018

Checks are such a classic pattern for men since it’s easy to wear, matches with most other items and it can also be a way to spruce up an outfit without looking like you’ve tried to hard. Checks are constantly re-imagined almost every fall/winter, and yet the designers can make them look new and exciting again! This year, opt for a pair of chinos in this classic pattern as opposed to a button up. It’ll bring something new to the table for your wardrobe and it’ll catch the eye of many!

Leather

(L to R) Hermès Fall 2018, Berluti Fall 2018, MSGM Fall 2018

Our last trend is leather jackets. Another staple for fall/winter but this year it is no classic black leather jacket. For this season, designers have opted for more earthy and muted tones and have elongated the length of the jacket. The look almost reminds me of the Matrix but in a more trendy capacity. This is such a versatile item that I believe all men should have in their wardrobe! It’s a timeless, quality piece that will last for years and is not an item commonly seen on the street, so it is a surefire way to stand out.
